Tips for Success in Interviews

* First impression is the best impression. You will be judged by - the way you dress, your educational qualification, work experience, body language, manners, ability to absorb the information and interpret it intelligently and clearly. So take care to be at your best.

* Carry your relevant documents in order - like certificates, copy of application sent, bio-data etc. in a folder so that it can be easily shown when asked. Take a pen also.

* Present the documents only if the interviewer ask for it.

* Greet the interviewers as soon as you enter.

* Sit down only when you are asked to. It is better not to pull the chair, either lift it or move it and always enter from the right side of the chair.

* Never be late for an interview.

* Say 'please and thank you' whenever required.

* Listen carefully and pay attention to the question. If the question is not clear to you ask politely for a repeat.

* Reply confidently and immediately to the point, keeping your answers short unless asked for a longer description.

* While answering, look directly at the person asking the questions and try to be pleasant.

* Replies connected to any details regarding your bio-data should be authentic.

* It is better to admit if you don't know something.

* Remember to say 'sorry' if your opinions or answers are rejected.

* Avoid indulging in certain mannerisms in your speech or behavior.

* You can ask when you can expect to hear from them before you leave.

* Don't forget to say "Thank you" at the end of an interview to every interviewer before leaving.

* Shake hands only if the interviewer initiates the gesture.

* Walk out confidently without looking back.

* Gently shut the door behind you as you leave.

Eligibility

Applications are invited for the Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test(TANCET)-2008 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on 17th and 18th May 2008 for candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. Degree programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2008 – 2009 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University, Tirunelveli, Govt. Shortlisted candidates can participate for an Online Entrance Test to its full-time M.Sc. 2008 programmes, commencing in July 2008 at Mesra, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Lalpur. The online M.Sc. Entrance Test, BIT-MET 2008, will consist of 2 sections as below. Section A is compulsory for all candidates. The competence in software technology (CST) is a nation-wide examination conducted by C-DAC. C-DAC is a scientific society of the Department of IT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India.It has centres at Mumbai, Noida, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mohali, Thiruvananthapuram with the headquarters at Pune.

The main objectives of CST are:
• To provide standardised scores to candidates which they can use while applying for employment in the IT industry
• To provide support to IT industry in identifying suitable candidates for recruitment
• To shortlist candidates for interviews, for employment at C-DAC, Mumbai, Electronics City Bangalore and other centres.

(d) Physical Standards :

(e) A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academics of Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is the compulsory common entrance test required for admission to the Symbiosis Undergraduate Institutes of SIEC Deemed University. With the SET score, applicants can apply for the undergraduate programmes .
Along with taking SET, applicants have to purchase prospectus and apply to each of the Symbiosis institute separately.

SET is the initial step for admission to undergraduate courses in Symbiosis institutes. Each Symbiosis institute has its autonomous selection process.

Eligibility :12th (10+2) from any stream or its equivalent with minimum 50 %. Students who are appearing for their H.S.C finals and waiting for results can also apply subjected to their results it in the same attempt and should not have compartment.
* Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR), Pune
Course : BCA/ BBA (IT) (3 Years)
Eligibility :
BCA - XII standard examination pass from Science stream or government diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)
BBA (IT) - XII standard examination pass from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)
* Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies-Undergraduate (SCMSUG), Pune
Course : BBA (3 Years)
Eligibility : XII pass from any branch with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who have passed in compartments are not eligible for admission.
* Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune
Course : BDes (4 Years)
Eligibility : Candidates must have passed their 10+2 (any stream) or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks obtained in the final examination.
* Symbiosis Institute of Health Science (SIHS), Pune
Course : BSc (MT) (3 Years)
Eligibility : Std. XII Pass with any two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry & Microbiology or equivalent as decided by competent authority.

SET Centers : Symbiosis Entrance Test is conducted in 13 cities. A candidate may choose one city. The center and its address will be informed on the Admit Card.

AIEEE,2008-Examination Schedule

AIEEE will be conducted on the following dates as per schedule given below:
Paper-1
Dates of Examination: 27.04.2008
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
Timings: 0930-1230 Hours
Duration: 3 Hours

Paper-2
Dates of Examination: 27.04.2008
Subjects: Mathematics-Part I, Aptitude Test-PartII & Drawing,Test-Part III
Timings: 1400-1700 Hours
Duration: 3 Hours

Admit Card :
The Admit Card will be sent by post (including those who made application online) about four weeks before the conduct of the examination. In case the Admit Card is not received by 10th April '08, Such request be sent to Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension,Patparganj Delhi-110092 with two photographs (as pasted on the Application Form), one should be attested by Principal of the institution where candidate is studying/passed XII or by the gazetted officer. Photocopy of the Application Form,photocopy of the Demand Draft(for online application form) and the original postal receipt issued by the Post Office for having dispatched the Application Form by Registered/Speed Post in order to get a duplicate Admit Card. Such request for issue of duplicate admit card should accompany with the Demand Draft in favour of Secretary,CBSE payable at New Delhi amounting Rs.50/- as fee and additional Rs.30/- as postal charges for outstation candidates.
In no case the duplicate Admit Card would be issued at the Examination Centres.

Evaluation and Declaration of Results :
On the basis of performance in AIEEE, separate rank lists will be prepared for B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch/B.Planning. Score Card indicating All India Rank and State Rank with total marks and marks in each subject shall be sent to all candidates appearing in AIEEE.

Candidates scoring above a certain cut off percentage of marks to be called for counselling shall be determined at the time of declaration of AIEEE results.All India Rank and marks shall also be posted on AIEEE website. The results of AIEEE 2008 are likely to be declared on or before 7th June, 2008.
The score card will be dispatched to the candidates from 12.06.2008 to 28.06.2008 under UPC.

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:

B.E/B.Tech - By marks obtained in Mathematics and then in Physics in the AIEEE and then by age .

B.Arch/B.Planning - By marks obtained in Aptitude Test and then in Mathematics in the AIEEE and then by age.

AIEEE-Eligibility,Examina tion Scheme

An All-India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is conducted by CBSE, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development in compliance with the directives of the Government of India.Entrance is conducted for the admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in Central Universities, National Institutes of Technology, Deemed Universities and Institutions in the States/ UTs other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination/ State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score.

Eligibility
Educational Qualification : The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University. Those appearing in 10+2 final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE for consideration of provisional admission. Admission to AIEEE is meant for Indian nationals only.

Age Limit : Candidates between 16-24 years of age on the first day of October of the year of admission are eligible. In the case of SC, ST and PH candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

Examination
AIEEE would consist of two papers:
Paper -1 comprise Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with equal weightage containing objective type questions carrying a total of 360 marks for BE/ B.Tech courses.Papers is of 3 hours duration.

Paper -2 consists of 3 parts carrying a total marks of 340; Part (i) and (ii) comprise objective types questions to Mathematics and Aptitude test. Part (iii) consist of two questions to test the drawing Aptitude of the candidates for B. Architecture and B. Planning. Papers is of 3 hours duration.

Scheme : There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only. For each incorrect response one third of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet.

Candidates can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. The option has to be exercised while filling Application Form. It cannot be changed later.
